Omotesando Koffee used to be one of the most popular coffee shops in Tokyo. Unfortunately, the pop-up store was closed down back in 2015. However, just after that, they had launched their first overseas branch in Hong Kong, which serves a selection of espresso based coffee, Japanese style hand-drip coffee and sandwiches.
Located in Wan Chai, this coffee shop is in the middle of a European style pedestrian shopping street, Lee Tung Avenue. With a stylish grey and glass exterior and minimalistic wood interior, it is a sleek and modern looking cafe.
This cafe is split into two half levels with a barista brewing area on both levels and the seating area on the upper level. This seating layout is designed more to have quick conversations rather than a place for studying or working. There are a good number of seats here, and is usually quite full during peak hours and is packed with people on holidays .
I had their signature iced cappuccino which I absolutely fell in love with. The cappuccino has a very strong milk taste, very sooth and creamy. The presentation of the bubble like cocoa powder on the top of the drink was super cute and cool. I also got to try their famous egg sandwich. Super thick and fluffy egg omelette between soft white bread which are spread with mustard-mayo. Mustard-mayo and egg sandwich might seem to be weird combination but they turned out delicious.
Overall, I love everything here! Just that the food and drinks are quite pricey... But I would certainly go back and grab my favourite iced cappuccino LOL
