When “East-meets-West”: Little Bao’s Chinese Burgers

Located in Food Street at Fashion Walk, Little Bao is a modern fusion restaurant serving East-meets-West cuisine including their signature fluffy Chinese steamed bun burgers. It is no surprise that the restaurant owner and chef May Chow was awarded as Best Asia female chef in 2017.

In terms of the setting, the spacious setting and bright atmosphere reminded me of an American diner.

Little Bao’s à la carte menu offers a selection of appetizers, small shares, baos, drinks, dessert baos, ranging from $38-$178. After trying a few dishes, I felt that the Mushroom Salad was truly delicious. The hint of sourness from the balsamic vinaigrette really made the salad appetizing.

I must confess, I am in love with their fried chicken bao ($78). The chicken is coated with a crispy outer layer, while the interior features juicy and tender meat. It is paired with Chiang Kiang black vinegar and Peppercorn Mayonnaise. The signature pork belly bao($78) was another highlight of my meal.

My meal ended with one of their dessert baos- salted ice cream with caramel, a frozen delight sandwiched between a golden deep-fried mini bun. Just the perfect analogy of when “ice-meets-fire”.

Overall, dining at Little Bao was a great experience. In terms of price value, I would say it’s a pretty good deal as it cost less than $200 per person to enjoy quality fusion cuisine designed by one of the best chefs in Asia. I would totally recommend this place for friends and families to hang out and chill.
